Mother Speaks out About Drunk Driver Who Killed Her Son

In an article by CBS-7, a mother is speaking out about her son who was killed in a drunk driving accident. Her sad story began on August 20th, 2015. At the time, she was sleeping in her home when her father woke her up and told her that her son, Justin had been killed while riding his motorcycle toward Midland on Highway 80. A drunk driver that was driving the wrong way on the road struck and killed him while he and his girlfriend were out for a ride. She survived, in the end, because Justin insisted that she wear his one and only helmet.

This sad tale does have a bittersweet ending. The mother keeps in contact with the man who killed her son. He is deeply regretful for what he inflicted upon her and wishes he could trade places with her son. It's never an easy thing to lose a family member, especially if they were taken from you prematurely by something like a drunk driving accident. The whole situation could have been avoided if the man had simply called a friend for a ride.
